Your Comprehensive Eye Exam

We know it is important to be thorough, that's why we offer a comprehensive eye examination that can uncover hidden symptomless and potentially sight-threatening eye disorders and diseases that are not found from simple vision screenings.

Medical History

Since the eyes are part of the body, they can be affected by many health conditions. We will discuss your general health and  medications.

We will also discuss concussions and other injuries as they can affect vision.

External Eye Health Evaluation

A microscope is used to assess the front and back of the eyes. If dry eye is a concern, we use special dye to look at the tears coating the front of the eye for problems.

Neurological Assessment

By Evaluating the way your eyes move and your pupils respond we can tell us if the nerves and muscles controlling your eyes are working properly or require more investigation.

The Visual Field test allows us  to screen for vision-impacting changes along the visual pathway in the brain.

Internal Eye Health Evaluation

Binocular Vision Testing

We go a step beyond your average eye examination and do testing for problems related to eye focusing, eye teaming, and eye tracking.

This is not always part of a routine eye exam at other clinics but we know these extra tests are an important part of uncovering problems that  affect academic performance in children and quality of life for all of our patients.

Both automated and doctor-controlled instruments, plus the patient-directed methods, are used to obtain the best glasses and contact lens prescriptions for you.

All patients, parents or guardians will be provided with an explanation of the findings, their significance and the treatment plan.

The Refraction
Consultation

The inside of the eye is viewed with a microscope, Optomap imaging and Optical Coherence Tomography, which allows us to look at the layers of the retina.

We can detect early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, hypertension, diabetes and more.
